To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone, all members are required to follow the Club's Code of Conduct.
General Rules
- Proper closed-toe athletic shoes must be worn at all times during training sessions. Outdoor shoes, winter boots, and sandals are not permitted in the training areas.
- Clean and return all portable equipment to its designated storage area after use.
- Roll up yoga mats after use and return them to their designated storage location.
- Do not drag exercise mats across the floor. Lift and carry them to your workout area, then return them to their proper place at the end of class.
- Do not drop free weights on the floor. After use, return all weights to the appropriate rack in the equipment storage area.
- New participants should avoid standing directly in front of the instructor. Please position yourself to the side or at the back of the room so you do not block the view of other members or disrupt participants with more advanced experience.
Yoga, Pilates & Essentrics Classes – Equipment Guidelines
1. Mats
Exercise mats must not be dragged across the floor. This rule applies to all training rooms.
2. Footwear
Shoes are strictly prohibited while standing or lying on exercise mats. This rule applies to all training rooms.
3. Mat Storage
At the end of each class, thin exercise mats must be neatly rolled up and stored in the designated storage room located in Room 225.
4. Dumbbell Storage
For safety reasons, dumbbells in Room 225 must be placed perpendicular to the shelf, not parallel.
5. Resistance Bands
Resistance bands must be neatly folded, placed inside the small plastic bag provided, and stored in the designated clear storage bin.
6. Yoga Blocks
At the end of each yoga class, yoga blocks must be neatly returned to the storage shelf.
Personal Belongings
- All bags, coats, boots, and personal belongings must be stored in the locker rooms. They are not permitted inside the training rooms.
Respectful Conduct
- The Club maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward bullying, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or any form of disrespectful behavior—whether verbal, psychological, or physical—toward fellow members, instructors, administrators, employees, volunteers, or any member of the Club staff. Such behavior may result in immediate removal from the premises and cancellation of your Club membership.
- Club management and/or instructors reserve the right to refuse or cancel the registration of any individual who is deemed unable to safely participate in the exercises or who may present a risk to themselves or others.
- Individuals who repeatedly disrupt classes, refuse to follow instructions, or harass members or staff may be removed from the Club.
Use of Electronic Devices
- Taking photos or recording videos inside the gym facilities is prohibited.
- FaceTime and other video calls are not permitted in the training rooms.
- Phone conversations are not permitted during exercise sessions.
Classes and Scheduling
- Any schedule changes or important announcements will be communicated by instructors and sent to members by email.
- Class schedules may be modified or cancelled without prior notice.
- The Club reserves the right to change, substitute, or cancel classes based on instructor availability or room scheduling.
- No classes will be held on official public holidays.
Right of Refusal Policy
The Club and the Recreation and Sports Department reserve the right to refuse access or services to any individual who violates the Club's Code of Conduct, behaves inappropriately, or fails to comply with instructions provided by Club staff or the Recreation and Sports Department staff of the Borough of Saint-Laurent.
